Quick Update

Just a quick update – I added about 75 or so pictures today!  I finally started the 2007 photo gallery – and added pictures of our new house for everyone to see.

Everyone is doing well here. Rob is getting ready to leave his current command and go to a new command (same base – just a different unit).  He is excited about having something new to do.  He has been off work almost 6 weeks recovering from his back injuries, but I think is excited to finally get back to work – although it’s probably going to kill him at first because he’s used to getting an afternoon nap around here!  Maybe with him back at work I can finally get something done at work myself!  🙂

The pregnancy is going great.  I’ll be 27 weeks on Friday – I can’t believe how fast time flies.  If history repeats itself, I have about 10 weeks to go before we see Bianca (and 13 at the most).  We are getting excited, time for us to start putting the nursery together!

Damian will be 4 and Kadence 2 next month! I can’t believe how fast they have grown.  We wish you could all be closer to help them celebrate their birthdays – but I’ll be sure to post some pictures when it’s all over!

It’s a Girl!

We’re having a girl! We have had two ultrasounds now that have specifically looked at the sex of the baby – and this one is a girl! So we’ll have 1 boy and 2 girls!  We have also chosen a name – her name will be Bianca Elizabeth Nielsen. She is due June 27th, so we’re almost half way there (I’m 18 weeks right now).

I did go in and have a cerclage yesterday, just as they did when I was pregnant with Kadence. They stitched my cervix closed, and not a moment too soon apparently. My cervix had lost 1/3 of it’s size in the last 2 weeks, and was open 1 centimeter as of yesterday. They got the cervix completely closed and the doctors are confident that they got a good stitch!  We’ll be followed every 2 weeks or so for the rest of the pregnancy to see how things are progressing, but we are confident that we’ll go to term with this baby just as we did with the other two.

I have started a baby registry for Bianca, but will add more to it as I have time.  She is registered with Babies R Us.

Happy New Year!

I don’t have a lot to report today, but wanted to wish everyone a very happy new year.  Can you believe it’s 2007 already?  When I was little, it seemed like the time dragged on, that I’d never be 10, or 13, or 16, or 18… I always wanted that next chapter, but the wait seemed endless.  I can remember numerous adults saying “don’t rush it, when you get older time will fly — or when you have kids, don’t blink because if you do you’ll miss everything”.  I thought they were all crazy.  As long as it took to get between birthdays, or reach summer vacation, there was no way time was going to go “faster” just because you were an adult. Little did I know – everyone was exactly right.  I can’t believe Damian will be 4, and Kadence 2, in just 3 months! It seems like yesterday I was giving birth to them. The days do seem to go very fast when you’re an adult, and we tend to get so busy that we sometimes forget the little things. For all of those that I didn’t send holiday cards to, or birthday cards to last year – I am sorry. If I forgot to call you back, I am sorry. If I was late for anything, I am sorry… Being a mother of 2 (with another on the way), is alot more work than any other job out there! And adding being a wife, the owner of a business, etc – life does seem to sometimes just slip by without even realizing it. I deeply adore all our family and friends, and truly appreciate your love and friendship. My resolution of 2007 is to try not to get so caught up life – and remember to remind those that we love – how very much we love them!

Oh, before I forget – I have a confirmed due date (again).  We are due June 27th, and my doctor assures me that we are not going to change the due date any more. This is my new doctor, and I’m very excited about their staff. I am going to a private physician now, and am much more pleased with the care I am receiving. We go back on the 10th to have another ultrasound, and try to determine the sex of the baby. I’ll be about 16 weeks at that time. I then go down to San Diego (UCSD) on the 19th to have a level 2 ultrasound (which will confirm the sex of the baby), and meet with a couple specialists to discuss some of my history so they can make some decisions on how to best proceed with this pregnancy. Everything is perfect so far, but considering how difficult having the last 2 were, they want to take every precaution necessary to insure a successful outcome.  More than likely one of the decisions they will make, will be to schedule me for a cerclage. If you remember, I had one with Kadence (they stitch the cervix closed until the end of the pregnancy).  As I know, I’ll let you guys know!

Christmas Update

I can’t believe we’ve already had Christmas!  And can you believe we’re getting ready to start a whole new year?  Where does the time go?

Rob’s mother and step father came to spend Christmas with us this year, and boy did we have a great time.  The kids really enjoyed seeing their Grandma and Grandpa – and their dog Star.  We had many great meals, watched the kids play, and truly enjoyed each other’s company. Our only regret is that they couldn’t have stayed longer.  We surely hope we get visited by the other grandmas and grandpas out there soon!

I added new pictures, almost 200 of them!!!!!  Can you believe it? I added them this morning, so make sure to check them out.  I also added 3 pics to the left, one is of Rob and I at the Marine Corps Ball in November, and the other two are the kids’ winter school pictures. Click any image to see a larger version.

So far so good with the pregnancy – I’m about 13 weeks along now, not quite half way there.  I’m definitely starting to show already and we’re very excited. We are hoping to find out the sex in the next month or so. We’ll surely keep you updated!

Have a happy new year everyone – we’ll check back in and update everyone on our life next year!

Exciting News!

I promised pictures, but don’t have any new ones yet! I have misplaced my camera!

My how things can change in just a few weeks! Last time I wrote, the kids were going to finally have their own rooms — well, that has changed! We are moving to a new house next week, and the kids will actually continue to share a room.  They could have each had a small room in the new house, but we decided instead to let them share 1 big bedroom. The house is brand new, and when it was built was supposed to have a pretty good sized loft. But, the builders decided to close the loft in to make it just a very large bedroom (almost as big as our master bdrm). Because of it’s enormous size, we have decided to let the kids continue to share a room.  Damian is excited about it, and of course Kadence isn’t even aware that we are moving yet!  Check our contact page for our new address. (Our phone numbers will remain the same – although Rob and I both got new cell numbers in July – those are listed on the contact page — and Rob changed his email address which is also listed on the contact page).  We’ll put up pictures of the new house as soon as we get settled in.  🙂

Now, as if all that wasn’t exciting enough — we have even more news for you!

WE’RE PREGNANT – AGAIN!

Yep, two just wasn’t enough for us, so we’re going to have one more baby! We just found out a couple of weeks ago, and as of right now I am 7-8 weeks along depending on which doctor you ask. Everything looks really good (and for those of you that thought we were having twins, nope – there is only one baby in there).  I am due between June 26th and July 2nd, again – depending on which doctor you ask.  We are very excited about our new addition!  We’ll keep you updated as we know more!

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Our Wishlists

Okay, so I haven’t added any pictures yet, but promise to do so within the next few weeks!!!

But you guys have started asking us what the family wants for Christmas, so I’ve tried to make it easy for everyone!

Kadence has been sharing our room or Damian’s room for many many months now – and will officially get her own room in December. So, we are hoping to decorate it in the “Sweet as a Daisy” pattern available from Amazon. You can view her wish list here, which also has other items included in the list. Kadence Gift Registry.

Damian is big into the Disney movie Cars. He has gotten over his infatuation with Spiderman, to some extent, and is now crazy about Cars. He has the remote control TowMater, and the smaller push button Lightning McQueen (car w/ commands on roof), but wants the bed set. He’s also big on outdoor activities. Damian’s Gift Registry.

Both kids have more toys than they know what to do with – so this year we’re concentrating on decorating their rooms and getting them some items for use in the backyard (since it’s warm here year-round).

Rob and I are not picky! We need kitchen items (black and stainless are our colors), and we love gift cards for places we wouldn’t normally get to spend money (Victoria’s Secret for me and Golfsmith.com for him). View our Gift Registry.

If you purchase anything from any of our wish lists, please make sure the wish list updates so that nobody else buys the same thing!

April Updates

Okay, it’s been almost 3 months since I’ve updated this site.  I know you’re probably all having withdrawals, and have been patiently waiting new pictures of the kids.  I have added new pictures to the website today, so please click on the “Main Picture Gallery” on the left to see the new pictures.  There are only 2006 images there, so if you’ve not been here in a while, you should also check out the 2005 gallery.  Keep in mind, oldest pictures are at the top, with newest pictures at the bottom.

The last 3 months have been very busy for us.  Rob left in February to go to Warrant Officer school in Virginia.  He’s doing very well and is ranked in the top 15 of his class.  He’s working hard, but he’s doing a great job, we are very proud of him.  He will graduate Thursday May 25th from that school and will then go up to Aberdeen MD to attend another school, thankfully this one only 5 weeks long.  We are expecting him to be home Fourth of July weekend and we can’t wait!

We did go out to visit him last weekend, the kids and I flew out there and then rented a car for a few days.  It was great spending some time with Rob, but was too short!  We will go back again for graduation, and then we’ll wait for him to come home.

The children’s Godmother, Rachel, moved in with us in February.  Her husband Casey (Godfather) just graduated Marine Corps boot camp in January, and he’s now away at school in Pensacola Florida.  So while he’s gone we asked Rachel is she would move out here with us from Idaho and she did.  She helps me tremendously with the kids, and as it turned out I had an opening in my company so I was able to give her a full-time job as my assistant also.  She’s doing a fantastic job working with my company and is a huge help to me with the kids.  I’m not sure at this point how I would manage without her.  We are hoping that after Casey finishes his school, that they get stationed out here!

As if all that wasn’t enough excitement, Damian will turn 3 on the 17th of this month, and Kadence will be 1.  Where does the time go?  Kadence has just started to walk, taking a few steps at a time.  Damian is 99% potty trained now too, and 100% off the bottle.  They grow up so fast!

Okay, that’s it for now, hope everyone is doing well.

New Year

Wow, can you believe it’s a new year?  So much has happened since I last updated the website back in November.  Let’s see, where to we begin.

Well, Kadence is now enrolled in daycare, the same daycare Damian goes to.  Things didn’t work out with the nanny we had so we had to put her in earlier than we were hoping.  But, it’s worked out for the best because she seems to love it there.  She’s really started to blossom.  Within just a couple of weeks of starting that daycare she started sitting up on her on, then started really crawling, and is already starting to pull herself up on furniture and stand there!  We think she’ll be walking in no time.  They sure grow up fast!

We spent Christmas with Rob’s mom in Sacramento.  We go to see Rob’s Grandma Mac while we were there too.  We had a wonderful time!  The kids got tons of presents from Santa and the family (too many from the grandparents!!!).  We had a wonderful visit.

The last week in December the children’s’ godmother Rachel spent with us, and helped us move into our new house.  We moved a little over a mile down the road into a wonderful, very big house! We are absolutely thrilled with our new home, and can’t wait for everyone to come and visit!

We have closed the 2005 pictures page, no new pictures will be going there, but make sure you check that page to make sure you’ve seen all the Christmas pictures!  We have started the 2006 pictures page, but only have one picture in there right now!  I’ll have to start taking some more pictures soon!

Rob leaves for Virginia in early February and will be there for about 5-6 months.  He’ll be in Officer training and then another school for his specific job.  We’re going to miss him terribly and are hoping to be able to go and visit him in April for the kids’ birthdays.  We’ll see!

That’s about it for us right now.  We’re busy, as usual.  Everyone is happy and healthy!  We miss all our family and friends, so if it’s cold where you are, hop on a plane and come visit us in sunny California!  It’s in the mid to high 70’s every day!

Some New Pics

Wow, can you believe I updated the website twice in one month?  Not much to say, but did add some new pictures of the kids today, about 20-25 new photos taken over the past couple of weeks.

We had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner here at home, I cooked. Yes, everyone is still living!  🙂

That’s it for now, I have to go clean house.   🙂

Getting into the Holiday Spirit

Well, last night was the 230th Marine Corps Birthday Ball, Officer’s Ball.  Since Rob just made officer at the beginning of this year, this was our first Officer’s Ball.  It was held at the Pala Casino about half an hour from here, and we had a wonderful time!  There are a couple of pictures in the Main Picture Gallery from last night.  We have another ball (the Battalion Ball) coming up November 17th in Vegas.  That’s a long way to go for a birthday ball.  Rob will definitely be there because he’s going to be part of the sword detail for the ceremony.  I have yet to decide if I’m going to be there or not.  I just don’t know if I’m ready to leave the kids overnight.

Last week was of course also Halloween.  Damian dressed up at Tigger and Kadence was Piglet.  The kids were oh so cute.  We took them to the mall for trick-or-treating.  Half way through the night Damian stripped off his costume and trick-or-treated in his t-shirt, diaper and sandals.  We finally convinced him to let us buy him a pair of pants in Sears so he wasn’t walking around the mall half-naked.  There are pictures in the Gallery of Halloween night.

What are your plans for the holidays?  Going any where special?  Have you been good this year?  Can you believe Christmas is just round the corner?  Do we have your current mailing address?  If you’ve moved since last year, please make sure to send us your new mailing address.

We are getting excited about the holidays being just around the corner.  This will be Kadence’s first Christmas, Damian’s 3rd.  Damian will really get into it this year we’re sure!  We’ve created gift registries (look on your left in the grey column), for both kids as well as one for Rob and I together.  The registries are at amazon.com.
